The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for securing freight loads for company and third-party drivers while ensuring all documentation related to logistics operations is accurately prepared, processed, and maintained. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
o Attend daily team meetings to review past performance, current operations, and upcoming logistics activities.
o Ensure upcoming logistics requirements are planned and executed efficiently.
o Communicate with carriers, third-party brokers, and drivers to negotiate profitable agreements and maintain positive working relationships.
o Address and resolve operational issues, service concerns, or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
o Schedule, track, and communicate delivery appointments, load details, and customer requirements to carriers and drivers.
o Prepare, issue, and maintain required documentation for local and cross-border shipments (including ACE, ACI, POD, and related documents).
o Accurately enter and verify data in logistics software systems (carrier information, equipment details, trip origins/destinations, pick-ups/deliveries, customer PO/invoice numbers, wait times, mileage, etc.).
o Monitor carrier base and lane coverage to ensure adequate capacity and contracted support.
o Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce transportation costs.
o Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and all applicable U.S. and Canadian federal, provincial, and state regulations.
o Work varies between shifts, including overtime, weekends, and occasional holidays during peak seasons
Preferred Qualifications:
o 1–3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
o Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
o Ability to adapt to changing priorities and daily operational demands.
o Strong communication and organizational skills.
o Knowledge of health, safety, and food safety standards related to logistics (training available).
o Ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
