Let’s talk cabbage

    Shopping for Cabbage

Always choose firm and heavy cabbages with tightly bound leaves that are still crisp and brightly coloured (minimal discoloration is fine). Eat raw cabbage within a few days of purchase. Remove loose leaves, wrap in a damp paper towel, and place in perforated plastic bag to store in crisper drawer for no more than two weeks.

    Nutritional Info

Cabbage is low-calorie, high-fiber vegetable rich in vitamins C and K, and a moderate source of vitamin B6 and folate. Cabbage also contains thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, B5, calcium, magnesium, niacin, iron, phosphorus, potassium, and manganese.

    Taste Profile

Cabbage is the ultimate ingredient—delicious when raw to provide a satisfying crunch, and sweetens when grilled, roasted, or baked. Don’t forgot that cabbage pickles beautifully.
